How to Practice Edging:
Stop-Start Technique for More Stamina and Energy

Why You Feel Tired After Orgasm:
How Edging Avoids the Prolactin Crash

Picture an experienced surfer. He doesn't just wait to get swallowed by the wave. He feels its power, glides along its crest, steering his board so he stays in that sweet «energy zone» for as long as possible. He doesn't fight the wave — he dances with it.

Our sexual arousal works a lot like that wave. It builds, reaches a peak, and inevitably crashes (as an orgasm), leaving calm waters behind. Most of us in this process aren't surfers — we're passive swimmers. We just thrash around until the wave rolls over us completely.

But what if you could learn to «surf» that wave? What if there were a technique that lets you consciously hold yourself right at the peak of arousal — keeping it from crashing — and in doing so extend and deepen pleasure many times over? That technique is called the «edge of orgasm» hold.

Key Topics of the Lesson:

  • Edging:
The modern name for the practice of holding yourself at the peak of arousal.
  • The Plateau Phase:
The most energising stage of the sexual response cycle.
  • The Refractory Period:
Why energy drops after orgasm — and how to avoid that.
  • Practice:
The Stop-Start technique for multi-orgasmic potential and control.

Why do you feel tired after orgasm?

  • At the moment of climax, your body releases the hormone Prolactin. It triggers drowsiness and kicks off the Refractory Period (making renewed arousal temporarily impossible). Think of it as the «brake».
  • While you stay in the Plateau Phase (edging) without climaxing, your bloodstream is buzzing with Dopamine (motivation, drive).

The biohack:
By avoiding the prolactin crash, you keep dopamine levels high — and that dopamine converts into real-life energy after sex.

Expert Insight:

«Ejaculatory control is a skill that can be learned, just like driving a car. The Stop-Start technique allows a man (and a woman) to extend the plateau phase for as long as they wish.»

William Masters and Virginia Johnson, sexuality researchers and pioneers of scientific sexology.

🔒 Unlock Your Life Force

You've learned the physiology of the process. But the body doesn't change from reading books. To restore your energy and joy, you need somatic protocols. The closed section of this lesson contains practices for connecting the mind and body.

What awaits you here:

  • Unblocking Techniques: A clear algorithm for managing your state (arousal, sleep, pleasure).
  • Libido Management: How to transform sexual energy into vitality and creativity.
  • Safety Guidelines: How to work with body memory and sensitivity without overwhelming the nervous system.

This lesson is part of the "Course 5: The Art of Pleasure" system. Reclaim your taste for life, and take control of your energy and health.

⚙︎ Technical Diagnostics:
Arousal Regulation & Neurochemical Load Management

During the plateau phase, the mesolimbic reward circuit maintains elevated dopaminergic throughput — neurons in the ventral tegmental area fire continuously, flooding the nucleus accumbens with dopamine. This creates a sustained high-voltage motivational state rather than a brief peak-and-discharge event. Think of it as keeping a capacitor charged near maximum without triggering the discharge relay.

The engineering principle at work is load regulation: by modulating input stimulation (the Stop-Start technique), the system prevents the reward circuit from tipping into the discharge cascade. The longer the circuit sustains this near-threshold charge, the more dopamine metabolites convert into generalised catecholaminergic energy — experienced post-session as drive, motivation, and mental clarity.

Safety Note:
Venous Congestion

Practising edging for a long time without release can cause a dull, aching sensation in the lower abdomen or genitals (known as Blue Balls / Vasocongestion).

  • This happens because blood has rushed in but hasn't drained away.

What to do:
If you feel discomfort — take a break, do some squats, have a cool shower, or simply allow yourself an orgasm. Don't push through sharp pain for the sake of practice. Your body needs to adapt gradually.

Coming Up Next:
How often should you have sex without losing your energy?

We've learned to ride the wave. But how often should you have sex and experience orgasm? Can you do it too often — or not often enough? In the next Step we'll talk about finding your personal rhythm and the right orgasm frequency for your highest energy levels.
