Imagine you are watching a film. You are gripped by the story, you feel for the characters, you experience fear, joy, anger. You are completely immersed in it. For you, it is real. But what if, for just a moment, you could step back and see not a story — but simply moving coloured shapes on a screen? Not 'a hero running from a villain', but simply 'a collection of pixels shifting position'?
For an instant, you separated the event from your emotional reaction and interpretation. You saw 'raw', pure reality — the very 'fabric of events'. You saw the matrix of reality.
This ability — to briefly 'switch off' your personal, emotional 'commentary' and experience unfolding reality as a clean, abstract stream of data — is one of the deepest and most liberating states available to the Master. In this Step, we will touch on this remarkable possibility.
