Why Emptiness Occurs and How "White Noise" Stress Blocks Your Dopamine

This is one of the most distressing emotional states. There is no acute pain, no intense anxiety, and no burning anger. Instead, there is simply no joy. No desires. No energy. Just a gray, viscous emptiness where "nothing happens" and you "don't want anything."
