Step 3

How to Build Ontological Security:
Feel Safe Being Yourself Again

Rock in ocean representing ontological security and inner stability

Why You Don’t Feel Safe Being Yourself:
Minimal Self and Gut-Brain Calm

Picture a rock standing in the middle of a raging ocean. Waves crash against it, the wind tries to bend it, but it stays unmoved. It simply is. At its core — solid and unshakeable.

Now picture the space in which that rock, the ocean, and the entire world exist. It struggles with nothing, resists nothing. It simply is. At its core — pure, serene existence.

What if these two qualities — unbreakable Solidity and serene Existence — could be experienced not as outside metaphors, but as real, inner states? What if you could find within yourself an anchor like a rock, and a stillness like open space? These are not just pretty words. These are two new, foundational "constellations" of consciousness that open up at the highest levels of mastery.

Key Topics of the Lesson:

  • The Minimal Self:
A pure sense of being, without history or biography.
  • Ontological security:
The psychological foundation that gives you the right to simply "be".
  • The enteric nervous system:
Why the feeling of "Solidity" is born in the belly (the "gut brain").
  • Practice:
The "Call of the Deep" technique for awakening your basic sense of existence.

Neuroscience identifies two levels of self-awareness:

  1. The Narrative Self:
This is your story ("I'm John, a manager"). It is supported by the DMN (default mode network). Think of it as the "clothing" of your personality.
  2. The Minimal Self:
This is the pure feeling of "I am here, right now" — without words. It is supported by the brainstem and the insular cortex.
  • "Existence" means switching off the Narrative and stepping into the pure Minimal Self.
  • "Solidity" means activating the enteric nervous system (the network of nerve clusters around the gut), which sends a powerful signal of physical stability and safety to the brain — what we call a "gut feeling".

Expert Insight:

"Being is not having something. It is not doing something. Being is a fundamental way of existing — where a person does not define themselves by what they possess, but feels the fullness of their reality in the very act of living."

Erich Fromm, psychologist, philosopher, author of To Have or to Be?

🔒 Gain Access to the "Source Code" of Reality

You've built the foundation (your Inner Core). But to go beyond the ordinary and begin mastering the laws of your own destiny, you need Metaprogramming tools. The closed section of this lesson contains technologies for transforming consciousness.

What awaits you here:

  • Affective Alchemy: How to synthesize states of Bliss and Elation that aren't part of the brain's default firmware.
  • The Neuroscience of Emptiness: Techniques for entering creative silence (Thalamic disengagement) to access pure Intuition.
  • Cybernetics of Creation: Rewriting deep life scripts through the Law of Reversed Effort.

These lessons are the finale of the "Course 10: Personal Evolution" system. Complete your transformation and become the architect of your own destiny.

Is this your first time here?
First, build a Container for your energy

High energies require a solid structure. You cannot venture into transcendence without a foundation (free):

⚙︎ Technical Diagnostics:
Baseline Identity Signal Architecture

The human identity system operates on two distinct processing layers. The Narrative Self functions as a high-level runtime process — computationally expensive, language-dependent, and sustained by the Default Mode Network (DMN), a midline cortical circuit active during self-referential thought. This layer constructs biographical continuity but consumes significant prefrontal resources and is highly susceptible to interference from threat signals and social feedback loops.

Beneath it runs the Minimal Self — a low-level firmware process anchored in the brainstem reticular formation and insular cortex. This layer requires no linguistic encoding. It generates the raw 'I am present' signal continuously, independently of narrative content. Accessing this layer is analogous to bypassing the operating system and interfacing directly with the BIOS — stable, minimal, and functionally indestructible under normal conditions.

🛡 Safety note:
Fear of Emptiness

As you move toward "Existence", you may encounter Horror Vacui — a fear of emptiness.

  • What it feels like:
When thoughts go quiet, the Ego panics: "I don't exist!". You may feel dizzy, or have a sudden urge to distract yourself.
  • What to do:
This is a normal reaction — the Ego losing its sense of control. Don't run from it. Tell yourself: "I haven't disappeared. Only the words about me have gone quiet. I — the observer — am still here."

Lean on the physical feeling of "Solidity" in your belly — it is your anchor, so you don't feel like you're floating away into the cosmos.

How to bring perfect clarity to your thoughts?

We have touched the deepest states of consciousness. But how do you make them a real part of your life? In the next Step we will explore the "Master Techniques": "magnetising" states, "crystallising" clarity, and "distilling" your desires.
