Step 4
How to Stop Living by Someone Else’s Rules:
Breaking Limiting Beliefs

Cognitive Rigidity, Introjects, and the "Trial of Dogma" (Socratic Dialogue)
Imagine a powerful eagle born and raised in a tiny cage. One day, you walk up, open the door, and say to him: "Fly! You are free!" But the eagle doesn't fly. He cowers in the corner, terrified. He doesn't know what the sky is. He doesn't believe his wings were made for flight. His body is free, but his mind is still in prison.
The same logic applies to our desires. We can master dozens of techniques to find and realize them. But if our mind remains in a "cage" of old, borrowed rules, fears, and dogmas—we will never truly take flight.
We will only allow ourselves to want what is "permitted" by our invisible internal wardens. We will fear our boldest and most beautiful dreams. Our freedom to desire is directly linked to our freedom to think. In this Step, we will learn how to pick the locks of your internal "cage."
